  • OFF PISTE CIDER
'OFF PISTE - A MORE EXCITING CIDER, LIFE.'

OFF PISTE: Backcountry skiing, often referring to skiing outside officially approved areas of a ski resort.

Off piste apple's are grown in the New Zealand backcountry highlands, they are sun-ripened and patiently fermented to retain a unique crisp apple cider flavour. The name 'Off Piste' pays homage to the mountainous landscape of New Zealand, and also the idea that Off Piste's apple cider is off the beaten track, its unique, its exiciting, and it doesn't follow conventions.

The tagline 'A more exciting cider, life,' is a cheeky play on words also referencing the cider and the name.

  • BUSH FIRE
Bush fire is a wine produced in Western Australia. The name references the natural cycle of fires and regrowth in the Australian landscape. The deep red wine also exhibits earthy, slight smoky flavours due to the oak barrel ageing process.

  • GOTYE
Album cover design and artwork for Making Mirrors, by Belgian born, Australian artist Gotye.

The album reflects the various experiences of the artist during failed relationships, and the process of self-reflection and the changing of perspective over time. The artwork reflects these ideas through a swirl graphic, which illustrates the process of self-reflection. The artwork itself was designed to be viewed in two orientations, to visually represent the changing perspectives brought on through self reflection.

The first can be seen as representing the initial emotions brought on through heartbreak and represents a heart draining of blood. The second can be seen as the healing process as a heart refills with blood.

A minimalist approach was taken to allow the artwork to be the central element to the design.

    *Disclaimer: Personal Project entirely conceptual.

The branding needed to communicate the characteristics of strength, boldness, energy and reliability. This was achieved through building the brand toolkit around strong bold typography, bold use of colour and sharp angles.

  • UAC
The corporate identity for the Underwriting Agencies Council of Australia was done during my internship at TwoCents. The task was to create a fresh identity. The associated brandmark was derived from the abstract letters U, A and C. The branding had to be strong, no-fuss and almost clinical, and so blocks of colour and a strong simplistic mark was created.

I was the sole producer of the logomark, however the collateral and brand guidelines booklet were produced for the purpose of this portfolio, and were not completed during the internship.

Roots is a heritage seed stock nursery with a strong environmentally friendly ethos. The nursery uses only natural fertilisers and eco alternatives, and so this was a major point of consideration when producing the packaging and identity.

The logotype is inspired by nature and the growth of seedlings, it aims to convey the brand message of Roots; ‘a non-commercial, eco friendly and family run business.’
